Statistical Process Control and Quality Improvement
نویسنده
چکیده
• Statistical process control (SPC) is a management philosophy that relies on straightforward statistical tools to identify and solve process problems. • By systematically identifying potential problems in process control, managers can proactively make corrections before quality outcomes suffer. • SPC methods are useful in helping managers to measure whether their processes and products conform to design specifications, and they also help organizations to improve productivity and reduce waste. • SPC methods are used extensively in manufacturing settings but are also relevant in the service sector.

A DMAIC approach for process capability improvement an engine crankshaft manufacturing process
The define–measure–analyze–improve–control (DMAIC) approach is a five-strata approach, namely DMAIC. This approach is the scientific approach for reducing the deviations and improving the capability levels of the manufacturing processes. The present work elaborates on DMAIC approach applied in reducing the process variations of the stub-end-hole boring operation of the manufacture of cra...

Statistical process control is an excellent quality assurance tool to improve the quality of manufacture and ultimately scores on end-customer satisfaction. SPC uses process monitoring charts to record the key quality characteristics (KQCs) of the component in manufacture. This paper elaborates on one such KQC of the manufacturing of a connecting rod of an internal combustion engine. Here th...

The cumulative count of a conforming (CCC) control chart is used for high quality processes. The CCC − r chart is an improvement of the CCC chart that is based on the cumulative number of items inspected until observing r non-conforming ones. This paper aims to propose a new approach for manufacturer’s decision making according to the criteria among the available options. The o...
متن کاملQuality Improvement Through Multiple Response Optimization (TECHNICAL NOTE)
The performance of a product is often evaluated by several quality characteristics. ptimizing the manufacturing process with respect to only one quality characteristic will not always lead to the optimum values for other characteristics. Hence, it would be desirable to improve the overall quality of a product by improving quality characteristics, which are considered to be important. The probl...
